How should I store raw pet food?
Keep the raw meals frozen, defrosting what you need as you go. You could, for example, take out a tub and leave it out overnight, ready for use in the morning.
In summer months be careful not to leave the food out too long, or for the whole day, especially on hot days.
Always seal the tub and refrigerate in-between servings, but do not re-freeze as the food will go off when defrosted again. The food is not cooked and re-freezing will spoil the contents.
Unlike dogs, cats are not scavengers and will only eat fresh food. Don’t defrost cat meals in hot water, and make sure to refrigerate immediately after serving.
Please don’t microwave the food – let it defrost naturally.
